AI classes for teens and high school students, live and 1:1
Your teen makes AI projects in Python and learns to use AI chat tools well and honestly. They finish with a final project for their portfolio. One mentor for the whole level, all year round.
Free 40-minute class, live and one-to-one. No payment. No card.
From the Educifly team: 500+ students taught one-to-one online.

Educifly’s AI classes for teens are live, one-to-one online courses for ages 13 to 18, for families anywhere in the world. Teens who know some Python make AI projects with tools like OpenCV and scikit-learn. They learn to use AI chat tools well and honestly, then finish with a final project for their portfolio. Classes run in Educifly’s own online classroom, once or twice a week. The first class is free.
AI classes for teens, by age
Our AI classes for teens make up the AI Creators stage, for ages 13 to 18. Teens learn to use generative AI tools well, make AI projects in Python, and finish with a final portfolio project. Each level has 12 projects.

13–17
Generative AI tools, used well and honestly
AI chat tools, Hugging Face
Projects that use AI chat tools well, and checks to tell real from fake
14–17
AI projects in Python
Python, OpenCV, scikit-learn
A program that finds faces in a photo, a model that sorts data into groups
15–18
A final portfolio project
Tools picked for the project
One big AI or coding project of their own
A few of those words, in plain English:
OpenCV is a tool that helps a computer “see” photos and video. Its code is open for anyone to use.
scikit-learn is a Python library for machine learning, which is how a computer learns from examples. A library is ready-made code your teen can use in their own programs.
Hugging Face is a website where people share AI models and the data used to train them. A model is the part of an AI that has learned from examples.
Ages are only a guide. In the free class, the mentor finds the right starting level. Younger kids, from about 9, start with our AI classes for kids. For the full picture, see the course at a glance.
Does my teen need to know Python before an AI class?
Yes, for the projects written in Python. AI projects in Python need Python basics first. The mentor checks in the free class.
Your teen is likely ready for AI projects in Python if they can:
Write a loop that repeats something 10 times.
Keep things in a list and pick one out.
Write a small function and use it twice.
Read an error message and find the line it points to.
Finish a small Python game or program on their own.
New to Python? They learn it first in our Python classes for kids.
What does a teen’s first AI program look like?
A first machine learning program in Python can be just six lines. This one uses scikit-learn to teach a computer to tell apples from oranges by their weight and their skin.
What it does, in plain words:
The first line gets a ready-made learning tool called a decision tree. It learns by asking yes-or-no questions, like “Is the skin smooth?”
fruit holds four examples. Each one is a weight in grams and a skin type: 1 means smooth, and 0 means bumpy.
names says what each example is.
model.fit is the learning step. The model looks for a pattern in the examples.
model.predict asks about a new fruit: 160 grams, with smooth skin. It prints [‘apple’], which is the model’s guess.
Now the real lesson. Ask about a heavy fruit with bumpy skin, [160, 0], and run it a few times. Sometimes it says apple, and sometimes it says orange. You’ll likely see both answers in a few runs. In the examples, heavy fruit always had smooth skin, so the model can’t tell which one matters. Each time you run the whole program, it picks one of the two rules at random.
An AI is only as good as its examples. That one idea sits under every AI project your teen will make.
How do teens learn to use generative AI honestly?
Teens use AI chat tools with a mentor, and they check what the AI says before they use it. AI chat tools come in only for ages 13 and up. Generative AI is AI that makes new text, pictures or sound, like a chatbot writing an answer. Our generative AI classes cover deepfakes, telling real from fake, and why passing off AI’s work as your own is cheating.

A simple test before your teen hands in any work that AI helped with:
1
Can you explain every part of it without looking at the AI’s answer?
2
Did you say where AI helped? Name the tool and what it did.
3
Does your teacher allow it for this task? Rules differ between schools, and between tasks.
4
Did you check the facts? AI chat tools can sound sure and still be wrong.
If the answer to any of these is no, it isn’t your teen’s work yet. Our mentors work the same way in class. They coach, and your teen does the work. They don’t let AI do the project for them.
Do the AI classes teach AI ethics and responsible AI?
Yes. On the Educifly pathway, AI ethics runs through every level. It covers fairness, bias and safety.
In plain words, responsible AI for teens means:
Check before you trust. AI can be wrong, even when it sounds sure.
Say when AI helped. Hiding it is a kind of cheating.
Don’t fake real people. A deepfake of a classmate or a teacher can do real harm.
Ask who it could hurt. An AI that learned from one-sided examples can treat some people unfairly.
What age can teens use AI tools like ChatGPT?
ChatGPT’s own rules say users must be at least 13, and under-18s need a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Some other AI chat tools set 18 as the minimum. On our pathway, AI chat tools come in only for ages 13 and up.

We checked both rules on each tool’s own website. Rules can change, so check a tool’s own rules before your teen uses it. Ask us in the free class which AI chat tools your teen will use.
AI course, summer programme or research programme?
A year-round 1:1 AI course suits teens who want to build skills week by week and finish real projects. A summer programme is a short burst in the holidays. A research programme suits teens who already code well and want to work on one research question. This is how they compare.

Will AI classes help with university applications?
They can help, but no course can promise a university place. What counts is real AI work your teen made and can explain.
Your child shows their big final project to the family at Demo Day. Ages 15 to 18 finish with a final portfolio project. Older students can use that portfolio in university applications.
Four tips for a teen thinking about applications:
Pick a project they care about. A model that sorts their own photos says more than a copied tutorial.
Keep the early versions. What went wrong, and how they fixed it, tells the real story.
Be open about AI help. If an AI chat tool helped, say how.
Practise explaining it. If they can explain it to you in two minutes, they’re ready to explain it in an essay or interview.
Who teaches the AI classes for teens, and is it safe?
AI classes for teens are taught by experienced coding teachers with computer science or engineering degrees. Your teen keeps the same mentor for the whole level.
Every mentor is trained on the Educifly pathway and background-checked.
Classes run live in Educifly’s own online classroom.
You’re welcome to sit in on any class.
Kids learn what’s safe to share online, from the very first level.
